I have a nice bunch of 3 really important exams this week and next, but I decided to take a break from the books, and do a bit of blogging. Your photos and words are far more colorful than the black and white print of textbooks.
{I wanted to say a quick thank you to
Rinny for giving me the Sunshine Blogger Award! You're so kind, dear! Many thanks! }

Today I went and grabbed lunch at one of my favorite spots in town! It's a gourmet market and bakery with some of the best food around. My personal favorite there is the chicken salad wrap; although, anything that they make is nothing short of wonderful. (I'm kind of a chicken salad nut. I love getting it when we go out to eat at different restaurants) It's always accompanied by a bottle of tea or flavored water of some sort. I love looking up and down the drink aisles for the newest or most delicious beverage at the moment. Outside are some tables and chairs to enjoy the scrumptious purchases. It was a lovely day with the sun shining against a blue sky accented with the palm trees dancing in the breeze. I felt like I was on vacation; my little spot of island bliss in the middle of a week of busyness. 'I live here', I thought. It was a moment to soak up and enjoy. I wished you could have been there with me to enjoy it too. We would have talked over flavored water and chicken salad (or perhaps some California Rolls..they are quite tasty!) and even shared a croissant or some lemon wafers afterwards. It was so nice to just take a quick break and enjoy.
I popped into a few stores yesterday to pick up some gifts for friends who have birthdays coming up, and
also made a stop into a favorite thrift store of mine. As I glanced at the boutique label things they had available, I came upon a hidden gem. I had to contain my delight as not to disturb the other people shopping. Yes, my friends, this is pure loveliness that comes only from Chanel. (The price was so ridiculously low that I cannot even mention it)
I am so very excited to wear it with a cute pair of jeans and pumps for fall or dress it up with a skirt of some sort. Speaking of clothing..I will be updating the store soon, but I've been so busy with homework and exams that I've not had time; nevertheless, I do have some cute things that are just waiting to be featured, so hopefully within the week I'll be able to get that done for you!
Craig Groeschel, one of my favorite speakers, and a wonderful author, said this:
"the long term gain is worth the short term pain."
I've really been thinking about this, and how hard times often produce incredible personal growth as well as a sense of closeness to God. Looking back, the long term gain is worth that short term pain. No matter the size of the tough situation, the long lasting lessons learned are worth the stormy times.
Music Loving: Recently I've been in the mood for some ballads and smooth vocals. This is when I turn to the master, Josh Groban, for some soothing sounds for my eardrums.
If you don't own the Awake cd, I highly suggest you change that. It's filled with beautiful scores paired with his gorgeous voice that makes for an incredible listening experience.
Random Thoughts:
- I want to do another giveaway soon..anyone interested?
- Still searching for the perfect lavender polish. If you have any suggestions, let me know!
- Craving some time spent in the kitchen making some fun fall foods and doing some crafts afterwards
- First day of fall is tomorrow!
Did you know that today is the International Day of Peace? This means no arguing between significant others/siblings/parents/friends/etc. allowed! ;) Here's a few thoughts on peace.
“Peace is not something you wish for; It's something you make, Something you do, Something you are, And something you give away."Robert Fulghum
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it.
Eleanor Roosevelt
When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him.
Well, I'm off to finish my studying! I hope everyone's week is going well! I love reading your blogs; you are so interesting to keep up with!
Blessings and Peace,
Candice
