Sequin Safari

It is no understatement when I say I am in love with glitter, and all things sparkly. Each time I walk into a store, the immediate response is to gravitate towards the sequins and sparkles...even better, it's totally on trend for fall/winter! Yay!! This printed dress was a fun find this summer, when I spent some time with friends up north! The moment I slipped it on, I knew it was a keeper. The sequins add that extra punch to the tribal print, and who can resist another pair of cheetah print heels. What can I say?
Animal print can do no wrong here.
It was such fun to stroll along downtown enjoying the stores filled with art, end of season sales, and the soft glow of tiny lights illuminating the trees, adding a touch of ambiance to the evening.

Happy Monday!
(and Happy Halloween! Do you plan to dress up and celebrate?)

Weekend Wanderings

This weekend will be full of work, a writing workshop and hopefully a bit of time to relax. I don't know about you, but I am so ready for the weekend to be here! Can you believe it's almost November?!
I still have yet to carve a pumpkin..I know, I'm a bit late here. Does it count if I drink a Pumpkin Spice latte instead?

Here's to a wonderful weekend ahead! Got any fun plans?

Teatime Thursday

I didn't have time to make a video for you, as this week seems to have flown by, so I have this ridiculous photo of me to hopefully suffice for it. :)

Here's a few things that have been making my week:

1. Glittery nail polish by SinfulColors in I Miss You
(Perfect shade for fall, and has lots of sparkle!)
2. Cashmere Sweater Coat from Lilly Pulitzer
(coziest thing in the world..I wear it to work all the time!)
3. Fluffy Fur Pillows from Target!
(I have 2 in Cream..best. thing. ever.)

Current Favorite
French Vanilla

Teatime Thought:
"Thank God for tea! What would the world do without tea!
How did it exist? I am glad I was not born before tea."
-William Gladstone, British Prime Minister.

Fact of the Day:
Tea is grown in a total of 36 countries around the world. The most famous tea producing regions are India, Sri Lanka, China, Indonesia, Kenya, Japan, and Taiwan, and lesser-known areas include Bangladesh, Uganda, Malawi, Turkey, Iran, Argentina, and Brazil.

Got any favorites you'd like to share?
Happy Thursday!

Mixed Prints

(Tunic: F21, Jeans: 7 for all Mankind, Belt: Dillards, Ankle Boots: TJMaxx,  Glasses: H&M, Clutch: Liz Claiborne, Bangles: Sterling Silver, gifts, F21, Lauren Elizabeth, Earrings: c/o Eden Privee)

Chevron in these pretty sorbet shades is the perfect transition piece for fall. Because it's still quite sunny, and the weather is such a tease, these shades combine the autumn reds and oranges with a soft peachy way of saying goodbye to summer weather. Can I tell you how much I love these leopard print ankle boots? They have become a staple in my wardrobe, and were a fun compliment to this boldly patterned top. Mixing prints is something I'm getting better at, being a person who usually matches, but it was fun to break the mold.
I've also worn these yellow topaz & pearl earrings every single day for a week now...it's becoming a bit obsessive.
On another note, taking outfit photos in public places makes for interesting moments..people and their funny comments. Thank you Mr. Jeep Driver for complimenting my walking capabilities. Awkward.

Happy Monday!

Thank Goodness

It's the weekend, yay! With the change in weather here, I'm planning a weekend of seeing friends, breaking out my boots, curling up with a cup of tea and a good book, and some time spent outside enjoying the cool, crisp air!

What are you up to this weekend?

Stuck

Have you ever found yourself in a inspiration rut?
A blank page with a blinking cursor and nothing to fill it with
Kind of creatively stuck, a writer's block, per say,
or a bit of that overwhelming feeling of
where in the world should I begin...
Between work, school and other schedules, I have found myself in that place recently...
So I've done some thinking, praying, reading and spending far too long on Tumblr and Pinterest,
looking for ideas and fresh thinking to get me back into a creative groove again.
Here's a few things that inspired me.

"Buy a blank notebook. Draw a huge heart on the cover. Don’t write anything negative in here. If you need another outlet, make a separate notebook. This one is all about love, personal growth, and getting back up. Fill it with beautiful images, reaffirming thoughts, and quotes. Write in it every day, and each day write one thing you’re grateful for in your life."

"Where words fail, music speaks."
-Hans Christian Andersen

In the end, it helped me to just take a step back from the busyness of life, to relax, knowing that God has every moment planned, and enjoy the little moments; the way the wind rustled the leaves, sounding like an audience's applause, the smell of the cinnamon brooms that envelops you upon entering the grocery store, the joy of finding my favorite Christmas CDs hidden underneath stacks of papers, and the fun of slipping on a scarf since the weather finally was fitting.
It's the beauty in the details.
I am once again feeling inspired.

What motivates you?

Making My Week

It's Tuesday and here's a few things that are making my week awesome already!
Photobucket
I love this book! Learning all about how to find your strengths and put them into action to make
life awesome! I've actually met Marcus Buckingham at a conference, and he is such a interesting person. Definitely a must read!

Photobucket
My DIY project over the weekend..new letters for my wall! I trimmed them with robin's egg blue paint and covered them in silver glitter. They are so fun to look at, and sparkle when the light hits, hello Glitter girl!
Photobucket
I am in love with ankle booties for fall, and cannot wait to wear these as soon as it gets cold (and stops raining) here! Yes, more glitter..are we noticing a trend here? Yes, I'm also craving sequin anything at the moment...in case you were wondering.
Photobucket
Writing with a warm cup of Chai tea..perfection...

These gorgeous green earrings from Frock Stock

“God longs to share his heart with us. He is not looking for perfect little robots to follow directions but people who will share his love. I think it’s very difficult for us to embrace the love of God because we have never been loved that way before. That’s because all human love—even the best we have experienced—is conditional and is impacted by our behavior or changing circumstances. But God’s love is not.”
—Sheila Walsh

Fall Leaves

(Shirt: Gap, Sweater: Izod, Jeans: 7 for All Mankind, Shoes: Thrifted, Earrings: Cecilie Melli, Bangles c/o Eden Privee)

We must have turned a corner, because it actually seems like it can be considered fall.
Although it may have just been the sticks and dead flowers on the ground that sounded like crunchy fall leaves..we take what we can get here, people.

On another note, I may or may not have worn these gorgeous silver bangles
from Eden Privee 3 days in row now... I am in love.
They have the most beautiful and high quality jewelry for great prices. If you need a statement piece or that finishing touch to an outfit, seriously, go check them out

Happy Monday!
