Whew! What a week it's been with Thanksgiving, Black Friday and I've also had quite the amount of assignments lately..the holidays sure are upon us, aren't they? This is one of my go-to outfits as of late, a simple cashmere top with soft, worn-in skinnies and a super cozy colorful scarf. It's nice enough to go out to dinner, and perfect for running errands. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and here's to a great week ahead!

Happy Monday!

Colorful Friday

I shall not be joining the masses of crazy people (you know who you are..) who are out shopping during the wee hours of the morning this year, namely because I get to work today. Having experienced the craziness of Black Friday shopping before, I just have to ask, is the extra 40% off that Coach bag really worth shoving and quarreling over? Yikes..

On another note, here's a few things that are on my Christmas wish list this year..
I think this monogrammed necklace is so classy..perfect for dressing up or down.
a fabulous wide-angle lens would be so fun to experiment with
It's everything dainty, French and sparkly in a ring..j'taime!
sequins are so festive..and this gold dress would be lovely for a party
cozy faux-fur throw for my reading chair
I've not read this book by Erwin McManus, and I'd really like to..
hoping to do some travel quite soon, so I'd love a pair of these for flights

On Thankfulness

I've never been a big fan of the whole Thanksgiving meal itself; however, I've always enjoyed the concept behind the celebration. Thankfulness, gratitude, family and taking a moment to pause and reflect on all that we've been given; truly we are blessed. It's not always about having the best things, scoring the perfect deal on Black Friday (who's going shopping?) and the hustle and bustle of the holidays. I like to think this celebration was placed before the rush of the season because we do need that breath of fresh air, to be reminded that God has blessed us abundantly and exceedingly more than all we could ask or imagine..already, and he continued to pour out his grace, lavish his love and give us a future full of hope  that is wilder than our dreams. Regardless of whether you'll be eating turkey and pumpkin pie with family tomorrow or not, it's a good idea to pause and think of things you're thankful for.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
(I'm thankful for you!)

Books & Bubble Tea

Brittany came into to town for the weekend, and we got to spend a fun afternoon together catching up over tapas and bubble tea. Our wanderings took us into a charming used bookstore, brimming over with the classics, randoms, and many written words from all over the world. It's always wonderful to spend time with friends, especially those who can encourage, laugh and understand right where you're at. I think God sends us the right people for the right time of life.
Friends are the best, wouldn't you agree?

Happy Tuesday!

by Lauren

Hi there, it's Lauren! Candice asked me to divulge my style secrets with you today, so I decided to share  some of my favorite fall trends: colored tights and leopard loafers. No, I'm not talking about the condiment today; I'm talking about one of the most popular colors for fall...mustard! With the cooler weather back in town, tights are a perfect way to add a pop of color to a cozy outfit. I decided to pair them with a black turtleneck and a grey paper bag waist skirt for a nice contrast. As for leopard print, I absolutely love it, so naturally I had to get a pair of leopard loafers. Because of the yellow undertone in the loafers, the mustard tights are a perfect addition, and finally to add a touch of sophistication, I threw on a chunky gold chain bracelet and a statement necklace! Have fun with these fabulous styles this fall and winter!

Happy Monday!

Of Sunset and Sequins

(Top: Five&Six, Skirt: c/o ShopKempt, Shoes: Pour La Victoire-via giveaway, Necklace: F21,
Bracelet: Dillard's, Ring: Lucky)

Hope you are all enjoying the Fashion Week posts! I love this outfit for multiple reasons, the first being it's comfort factor, and the second being the beautiful colors. Bronze, blush and cranberry are lovely for a smooth transition from fall to winter, and the menswear inspired pumps are the perfect contrast to a rosey statement necklace. Sequins are at the top of my must-have list, so this one from ShopKempt fit the bill perfectly! The evening light was lovely, and captured the gorgeous shades of blush and bronze in both the sunset and sequins.

 Will you wear sequins?
Happy Weekend!
