Weekend Wanderings

I just love summer...time to see family, meeting up with friends for lunch, watching the beautiful display of colors every evening as God paints the brilliant sunset across the sky, time to kick back and relax with my stack of books I've been meaning to finish, exploring new places and visiting old favorites. Finally a little time to plan, dream and enjoy; a break from the busy schedules of normal routine.
Oh summer you just might be my very favorite ;)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I'll be having a few lovely guests sharing here & there on the blog over the next few weeks, so be sure to check back, as you won't want to miss it! :)

Just an Update!

Happy Monday, everyone! I'm back from one adventure and preparing for the next! Last week was packed with all kinds of preparation work, leadership training and fun things like canoe trips, impromptu dance lessons, lots of laughter and visits to our favorite coffee & ice cream shops. We welcomed the first day of summer by going to dinner, watching the sunset, enjoying the cool evening breezes and dancing until the big silver moon came out and illuminated a sky full of twinkling stars. Summer has truly arrived!

Weekend Wanderings

As the weekend arrives, I'm about to begin a bit of an adventure that brings me to time spent with good friends, late night stargazing, lots of sunshine and maybe a little work here & there ;) Really though, it's good to enjoy my summer in a place that causes me to step back from technology a little, changes my focus & routine, and surrounds me with the beauty that is found in nature and time shared with some long-time friends. I'll be back soon with stories to share!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Unfading Beauty

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."
--1 Peter 3:3-4

What is it that we're striving for, chasing after, and consuming our lives with? Often times it is something so trivial, that in actuality, it is really not worth our effort. Can I encourage you to do a heart check to see if your inner self is beautiful? Can you speak of your spirit as gentle & quiet? We live in a society that blasts information at a rapid pace, loudly screaming "you have to be this way", but do we? When all is said and done, is your life leading you to your purpose? Have we lost that sense of stillness, that peace that quiets our minds, refreshes our souls, and soothes the spirit? That is true beauty, true worth, and is important to God. The "outward adornment" spoken of in the first part of that verse can also be our strivings in life..our accomplishments, the things we want people to see about us, but we really never dare to be real with others. The fact of the matter is that we need to stop...tune out the noise of life, the chaos of society's demands and to begin to listen. God speaks and has a word for you, but have you stopped to hear him? Beauty is not found in the glitz & glamour, sure it entertains for a short while, but that soon fades. Unfading beauty is found in someone of depth, a gentle & quiet spirit that says "all is well". I encourage you to discover that within, for this is of great worth.

You Are Real

So I've been giving hints here & there on Instagram, but I've been working on some exciting things with the YouAre Project team, and I'm thrilled to announce that the Summer issue of the You Are Real magazine features a Summer Soiree that I've styled!

I'm so happy to finally able to share the official cover with you, and the magazine will be available beginning June 10th! It was truly such an honor to work with an incredible team of photographers, models & friends (as well as the constant encouragement from the YouAre girls, Lauren & Catherine) to put together a gorgeous event. Thank you to my dream team :)
Sneak a peek of the party here, and then pre-order your copy HERE!

Also, check out some of the past work I've done for the YouAre Project here!
