Fall Favorites and Such

Wow, it's been such a busy week this week! I didn't have time to do a regular post until now!
Yesterday was a great day as I was able to see some friends that I hadn't seen in awhile. It was so good to catch up on life over dinner. I also stopped at a tea shop that I frequently visited last year and got my favorite iced Almond Vanilla bubble tea!
Seriously, that stuff is amazing; if you haven't tried it, you're missing out!

It's finally cooler outside! I woke up to fresh, cool air and what a refreshing change it is from the warm weather that's lingered for awhile. The change in temperature makes me want to bake yummy things all day long; unfortunately, I don't have the time, but I'll share another recipe with you in the upcoming week or so that is one of my favorites! I've found so many delicious recipes in all of your blogs lately! My goodness..I would love to take a whole day and just make one of each!

As far as other recipes, one of the things that I've really enjoyed lately is a sweet potato. It had been years since I'd eaten them, and now I'm hooked again. It's the perfect fall treat and just happens to be really really good for you!! The sweet potato is considered a "superfood"and is ranked the #1 for nutrition of vegetables..(yeah, I started eating them after reading that too..) For more info check out this article.
They are so easy to prepare (yay!!), and are naturally sweet! I suggest just sticking it in the microwave for about 6 min and then slice open to let it cool and sprinkle cinnamon all over. It is so yummy! Some people like to dress them up with more sugar, but I think that it has enough natural sweetness of its own, and the cinnamon adds that great "fall spice" taste.
This is easy enough for a college student as a study snack quick meal for someone on the go.

Kind of on the same topic as food..I really love trying different types of water; flavored, vitamin-enhanced..etc. Anytime I go into a gourmet market or organic grocery store, I make a beeline for the waters to try out a new one. Here's two of my all-time favorites.
The first is called VOSS water from Norway, and since I have a special place in my heart for Norway, it tastes doubly good as the memories from visiting beautiful places come flooding back when I drink it. (oh and it has a really clean, fresh taste)
The second one is MetroMint water; my favorite flavor being the Chocolate Mint (there's about 4 different ones to choose from, I believe) because it actually tastes like chocolate with mint..think a York Peppermint Patty candy. It's seriously so good and can satisfy a craving for sweets without the calories or sugar! (Perfect for anyone on a no sweets diet haha) I bring them to class with me all the time, and always feel as though I'm having this great treat, but it's just water! Look for them the next time you're out..I think you'll love both of them :)

This upcoming week brings about more rehearsals and such for the Nutcracker which means I'm going through pointe shoes very quickly..time for some sewing! My sister is quite good at doing this, so I have enlisted her to help me since she's sewing pairs of her own as well..it's such fun!
Sew many shoes!!
(sorry, bad joke..couldn't resist!)

Music Moment: If you love solo piano music, which I certainly do, you should check out Sunny Choi on YouTube. She is an international piano artist, and does beautiful covers and arrangements of the popular songs of the moment. Best thing about it is she has free mp3 download links on her Facebook fanpage that pop right into your itunes..yes, please!!

Anyways, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I love keeping up with you all; you're so creative, and it's really inspiring!

Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generoushelping, poured into your hands - all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you."
Luke 6:38

Blessings,

Candice

Haha you just listed 2 of my most favorite food items; I've never tried vanilla almond, but it sounds delicious. Sweet potatoes are a great food item-they're easy to make, tasty, and full of good vitamins. I was so disappointed last week though - the supermarket labeled them as sweet potatoes, but they were actually yams (white inside, not orange)! :(

I love Voss.

And you don't happen to live in AZ, do you? I need to borrow a pair of pointe shoes for a photoshoot I'm doing on Tuesday..and can't find my old box. Ha! Don't feel like droppin' 75 bones on a pair I'll wear once, either. The only pair I can find are a size 3.5 (one X wide) from when I was Clara in 2005. HA! Nutcracker. Fun.

What role(s) are you?!
