Multiply

The fall season always makes me think of blessings, thankfulness and giving. Perhaps its the coziness of the change in weather, spending time with family on holidays and such, but I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about giving, and my pastor recently spoke on this subject as well; it was so good that I decided to share it with you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Multiply: to enlarge, excel or prosper.

Genesis 1:28 (NLT) Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it..."

Whatever you hold is all you have. Whatever you give, God multiplies.

Luke 6:38 (GNT) "Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands--all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you."

You reap what you sow.

Galatians 6:7 (LB) Don't be misled; remember that you can't ignore God and get away with it; a man will always reap just the kind of crop he sows!

You reap more than you sow.

Matthew 19:29 (NIV) "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life."

3 Things About Multiplication:

1. The condition of your heart matters when you give. (Examine your motives)

2 Corinthians 9:6-7 (NIV) Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2. You cannot out-give God.

2 Corinthians 9:8-10 (NIV) And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written:"He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever." Now he who supplies seed to the sower...will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

3. People will thank God because of what you give.

2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV) You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

There's blessing in giving.

John 13:17 (NIV) "Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What can you give today? It doesn't have to be a monetary value; I've found that giving of my time or effort to another person or project is one of the most rewarding things in the world. Find something to give, and believe me, you won't regret it!

Blessings,

Candice
