Blanket Statements

(Dress: Lovenotes via TJMaxx, Scarf: Target, Boots: Franco Sarto,
Watch: Michael Kors, Earrings: F21, Sunglasses: Cole Haan)

So blanket scarves are having a moment it seems, which is alright with me. I mean, what's better than a scarf that also doubles as a cozy blanket? Not much. While the infamous Zara option has been floating around the blog world, I was thrilled to find this snuggly piece for under $20! The colors in the plaid are also rather pretty...a pop of aqua is a a fun way to mix up the classic red and black. This weekend we finally had a taste of some cooler weather, so I snagged this super soft, faux suede dress and donned a pair of riding boots, hooray! I also discovered that this is one of the few pieces of brown clothing I own...clearly, I'm more of summer girl, so fall colors don't seem to make much of an appearance in my wardrobe. This dress is quickly becoming a favorite, however, so you just might see it around here once again.

Thanks for reading!
Happy Monday!

Bet Your Boots

(Top: Lilly Pulitzer, Denim: F21, Boots: GoJane, Necklace: , Watch: Michael Kors)

Fall is boot season, and I am so excited to finally get to wear this over-the-knee style that I've been pinning on my style inspiration board since last fall. (I admit, I'm a little late to the over-the-knee party, but it's back for this season again, so I couldn't resist this year.) Since it's not quite cool enough to cozy up in a sweater, this pop of bright pink was the perfect color for that transition between summer and autumn weather. When it gets cold, I'll wear these boots with an oversized sweater, leggings and a big scarf, or swap out the silk tee for a button-down and a vest. For now, it's still deciding if it wants to be fall around here, so bright pink and statement necklace it is! I'm also loving short ankle boots and the ever-so-classic leather riding boots this season...fall weather, where are you??

Casual Cool

Necklace: similar, Bracelet: Forever 21, Earrings: Ana & Eva)

I never liked Birkenstocks. In fact, that was something I always said I'd never ever wear...like ever. I mean, no one wants to revisit the worst of the 90s fashion. But then I saw a few outfit ideas like this and this on Pinterest...and I thought, hm...you know, they're not that bad. Then I tried a pair from OnlineShoes, and I discovered how ridiculously comfortable they were, and then, somehow, they didn't look as terrible as I first thought, and...I liked them, a lot. Yeah, I admit it. They're actually stylish in a chic, casual cool-sort of way. So you just might see them around a little more. Trust me, if I can wear them, you can definitely rock a pair too, but please, for everyone else's sake, don't wear them with socks.

Holiday Sparkle

(Top: F21, Skirt: F21, Tights: Hue, Shoes: Candies, Mug: Starbucks)

It's been awhile since I've done an outfit post, and with the arrival of the holiday season, it was fun to put together something with a little sparkle & texture to it! I love the look of swiss dots, especially on tights, and this pretty chiffon blouse mirrored that print as well! The deep, rich color & textured fabric of the skirt was fun to accent with a little glittery gold for a perfect pairing. This little coffee mug by Alice & Olivia from Starbucks is my absolute favorite! Isn't the tutu/bowtie combo just adorable? I knew it was a must-have when I spotted it. It's crazy to think that we're now in the swing of the Christmas season, and I'm beginning to collect gifts for friends and family. Have you started your shopping yet?

Short & Sweet

(Top: F21, Shorts & Belt: Lilly Pulitzer, Necklaces: Etsy, Kate Spade, Sunnies: Target)

One of the things I love is the beauty found in the last few summer days..the air is warm, the days are sunny, each moment of free time is savored, and the evidences of a good time apparent in the sunkissed skin, lightened hair and relaxed attitudes. There's so many sweet memories of summer adventures to reflect upon as schedules once again resume and the season draws to a close. We took a day trip to the nearby art museum to wander about the galleries, oohing and ahhing over the many pieces displayed. It's the relaxed schedule and impromptu adventures I'll miss most as this season ends.

Lately all I've wanted to wear is colorful, printed tops, dresses and skirts. Perhaps it's the anticipation of spring and all the new colors, textures, and temperatures that are awaiting, or maybe I just like color. Whatever the reason, I can't get enough of the fun prints and designs that scream "TAKE ME ON VACATION!"I may or may not have been listening to the sweet strains of soft Hawaiian music while I work, and sipping on pina coladas occasionally in the afternoons...what? I promise it makes you FAR more productive.

Merry & Bright

I don't know what it is but I can't help but to be cheerful when I'm wearing this brightly colored punch pink hue! Fun colors seem to make the cold weather not seem as dreary. Also, what is more cheerful and merry than glitter?? To say that I'm in love with these shoes is a mere understatement, they are pretty much my daily go-to for everything..work, errands, meetings, parties...you name it, they had me at first sparkle...
Pretty sure I've convinced everyone I know to get a pair. Yes, that includes you.

And can we talk about how I have come to like turtlenecks again? After many semi-scary memories of cutesy grade school photos, they have somehow come back again and cozy as ever...new winter wardrobe staple? I think so..well that and a healthy dose of glitter. Bingo, you're ready for the season, folks.

Styled: Ankle Boots

(Top: LOFT (old), Shorts: H&M, Tights: TJMaxx, Boots: CottonOn, Necklace: Juicy Couture)

I love the look of a thick tweed short paired with tights, especially in such a fun plum color! To keep the look soft, I paired the shorts with a pale pink button blouse. Some simple accessories like a long gold necklace and pearl earrings look fresh and pretty but don't distract. --C

(Sweater: F21, Jeans: F21, Necklace: Juicy Couture, Earrings: Kate Spade, Clutch: Thrifted, Boots: CottonOn)

I wanted to work with the balance of volume for this look. A oversized comfy sweater in a chunky knit stripe looks great when paired with a dark wash skinny jean. Sparkling jewels and a gold clutch are the finishing touches that make this outfit perfect for coffee dates or an early dinner with friends. --L
