A Day to Enjoy

Sometimes you just need a day to enjoy to the fullest. We can so easily get wrapped up in to-do lists, daily routines and forget that life was meant to be loved and really lived. Do something for yourself..whether that is a new outfit, coffee with a friend, a special dessert or just some time spent enjoying the beautiful fall weather. The littlest delights can do wonders for the spirit. Go on, you deserve it!

Have a wonderful day!

Summer days are for adventure. To take a day to explore, wander and learn is to refresh one's spirit. I think that doing something spontaneous and perhaps a bit daring is just as good as taking a day to relax.

“A man practices the art of adventure when he breaks the chain of routine and renews his life through reading new books, traveling to new places, making new friends, taking up new hobbies and adopting new viewpoints.” — Wilfred Peterson

Perhaps your adventure does not include scaling a cliff or jumping from a waterfall, but that does not make it any less valuable..perhaps in that adventure, however small or large it might be, you'll not only discover more about who you are, but also those little, beautiful details hidden in life, the small moments of beauty, waiting for a courageous soul to find them. So before we all settle into our daily routines and rhythms of life, go adventure..be it alone or with friends. Do something out of your ordinarily planned schedule; I promise it is worth it!

Happy Monday!

A Cellular View

Warning: This is post is totally random, but it's a Monday...what do you expect?
Anyways, carry on...

Here's a few snapshots of the week from the viewpoint of my cell phone's camera.
(no judging the lack of quality in the images..I have an excuse, ok?)

Vanilla Almond bubble tea is the nectar of the gods...ok not really, but it's one of my very favorite drinks EVER. I am definitely a happy camper if there's one in my hand.

sweet little (actually not so much anymore) Tanner getting some sun

Moe's Mondays with friends is a definite tradition around here.
Come hang out with me on a Monday, I'll take you! :)

Last exam before summer...almost. finished.
Faux frames make me feel smarter.

Summer makes me want to eat lots of fruit, and get in shape for the beach..
the blueberries have obviously been working out too...seriously,
I've never seen any so big before, have you?

Here's to the start of a great week!
Happy Monday, friends!

Monday Musings

Listening to: Pieces by RED
Quote of the Day: “One day at a time--this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering.”
Have you ever wondered what people looked like when they were younger? You know when you see those cute old couples barely moving along the sidewalk together, it always makes me think, 'What were they like?' I tend to see them as they are now and forget that they were not always the crotchety, old people they have become. The women were once beautiful, carefree girls who giggled over the dashing boys that would wink at them across the soda shop counters after school. The elderly men were once the suave young men that were brave and valient soldiers or the handsome dance partner at the sockhop. How strange that humans are so obsessed with being different than the way they are in this present moment..excuse me? Let me explain..When we're young, we are always trying to look much older, and when we become old, we do everything to look young again. Have we ever stopped to just enjoy and be in the moment?

Nothing against coloring grey hairs and removing wrinkles, but have we lost the spirit of who we are now? Life is just so busy, and sooner than we expect, it passes us by like a gust of wind. I am determined to enjoy the person I am right now, in this present moment. There will be a time to act older and a time to have a youthful glow, but for right now, I want to enjoy this time. Besides, we are only guaranteed this moment.

This was just something I was thinking through today..

On another note: I decided to update my blog's look for the summer..I think it's kinda fun to change things up once in awhile!

Hope you're having a good week! I am praying for all of you!

Blessings and Present Moments,

Musings on A Monday

It's Monday and the beginnings of a good week! I hope you enjoyed your weekend, and are ready to tackle all that is in store for you in the upcoming days. I was able to work on a few projects and enjoy an early morning walk on the beach that ended nicely with a smoothie from a local place. It was so cool to have accomplished so much all before 10 am! The soft mist of the water meeting the sand was such a lovely backdrop for the seagulls that were eagerly searching for their breakfast. I find it so interesting that the sight of the rolling waves can be very calming. Perhaps it is the consistency of the chaotic, crashing water that we find so soothing.

I love the ocean!

I think that one of the best parts of Mondays is the fact that it's a new canvas for us to color with the paint of daily life. The challenge for you and me today is to find a way to be creative with the day that God has given to us. Try and sneak in a bit of time to draw, write, paint or read! Thank God for the beautiful day he's given for you to enjoy and grow in!
Be creative; it's fun! God is an artist, so try emulating this quality and see what happens!

Blessings and Creativity,

Candice
