I hope everyone's week is going very well! I'm sure you've noticed a few changes around here...I had a few minutes of free time, so I thought I would get a little bit of color to make things lighter, brighter and more beautiful! Today's post will be a quick thought since I'm off to study for an exam..
This Week's Happenings...
-Mark Batterson spoke in chapel today. He was completely amazing with a message about accumulating experiences instead of possessions (story from Matthew 19 about the rich, young ruler). I picked up his book In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day which I am super excited to read!
-I talked to a great friend of mine who lives a bit of a distance away from me..its funny how distance really doesn't make a difference when the friendship is strong!
- I found a nice surprise in my mailbox from some of my lovely small group girls that were such a blessing to read!
-I picked up some new reading material that I am really excited about! My church's bookstore had a $5 bargain book sale, so I snatched up a few good ones!
-It's getting to be that crunch time before summer, and things are getting quite busy..a friend of mine left me a sweet reminder the other day. Let it encourage you too!
It's such a nice day outside..I'll have to enjoy the weather later. Perhaps my exercise will be outside today..
Here's a few things from Mark's talk this morning, and I'm off to conquer a textbook! Have a wonderful rest of your day!
- Many of us are lacking a sense of spiritual adventure.
- Our churches have done to people what zoos to do animals; we are in 'cages of commandments and complacency'
- Many of us spend our time accumulating the wrong things for the wrong reasons.
- Make a list of life goals
- Ask God, "What do you want me to do with my life?" and prepare yourself for the answer!!
- You'll never regret the things you let go of because God asked you to.
