Trust.

One of the things I've been learning a lot about lately is the issue of trust. Who to trust, when to allow grace when someone betrays your trust, how to relinquish your plans and to trust that it's all taken care of..goodness there's lots to learn! Just when I think I've got it all under control, there's a new opportunity to either learn something new or to understand trust in a different type of situation. Here's a few of my favorite thoughts on this subject.

Psalm 37:5-6 says this, "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:  He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun."

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding"

Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Sometimes it's hard to trust when you can't see the future or the outcome of a situation..or when someone has broken your trust, but if we are unwilling to trust again how can we ever move forward? If we do not trust a soul we begin to go through life isolated, curled up and afraid to experience life for what it is; adventure. The fact of life is that people will, unfortunately, let you down, things may not go as you planned, and we don't know the future. Before you begin to feel depressed from reality, remember this, the creator of the universe, the one who formed the stars, put the seas in motion, and created your life knows your heart. He sees the broken and hurt pieces of your life, the situations where you are too tired or unwilling to trust again, and he can restore them...but we have to be willing to place our trust in Him. He is the only one who won't let us down, truly. Take the first step towards him and he will draw near to you, beautifying and restoring you and your life into something whole, something magnificent.
